General Description

The Practical Casting Kit: Centrifugal Casting, "MCEN", designed by EDIBON, is an essential educational unit for teaching the fundamentals of centrifugal casting. This unit enables students to develop practical skills in centrifugal casting techniques, facilitating a deep and detailed understanding of the involved processes.

This unit is mounted on a thick steel plate and supported by an anodized and extruded aluminum structure that provides great robustness and durability. It consists of an electric motor connected to a variable speed drive, which allows changing the motor's rotation speed. A pulley mounted on the motor shaft transmits the rotational movement to the mold shaft via a drive belt.

The mold shaft, made of stainless steel with a diameter of 20 mm, has a pulley to receive the motor's motion, while the cylindrical aluminum mold is placed at the other end. The shaft features two intermediate supports with bearing units made of casting materials, and it is equipped with spherical ball bearings to absorb moderate misalignment between the supports. The mold is firmly secured to the shaft with set screws and removable caps, facilitating the demolding of pieces.

The model pieces present different challenges in terms of symmetry and complexity, allowing students to practice and understand various casting techniques. The mold has a small conical shape to facilitate the demolding of the piece towards the entry side, ensuring efficient and precise production.

The "MCEN" kit facilitates practical learning of centrifugal casting processes by performing complete operations, from mold preparation to metal pouring and solidification. Students learn to handle the unit safely and precisely, improving their theoretical understanding of centrifugal casting principles and developing essential practical skills in the manufacturing industry.

The Practical Casting Kit: Centrifugal Casting, "MCEN", is not only ideal for engineering students seeking a deep understanding of casting and solidification processes but also for manufacturing industry operators who need to enhance their technical skills. Its use facilitates the transition from theory to practice, providing a solid foundation for future technical professionals and engineers.
