New wind energy product! Energy saving and environmental pollution reduction are crucial global issues. Using renewable energies as alternative sources to fossil fuels can address both issues, with great benefits especially in countries where traditional energy sources are scarce. The Wind Power...
AEL-WPT Wind Power Application with Permanent Magnets Synchronous Generator
INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS
The Wind Power Application with Permanent Magnets Synchronous Generator, "AEL-WPT", is an application designed by EDIBON to train the students in the main operations of wind turbines.
RELATED NEWS
General Description
Considering the above, this application allows experimental investigation on the conversion of wind energy into electricity by means of a wind power generator. The system configuration is stand-alone (isolated from the grid). The equipment is manufactured using real components available on the market.
The Wind Power Application with Permanent Magnets Synchronous Generator, "AEL-WPT", is an application designed by EDIBON to train the students in the main operations of wind turbines.
Using a driver motor that controls on AC Permanent Magnets Synchronous Generator, the student can simulate an actual medium wind turbine with a voltage regulator, AC inverter (not included) and batteries.
The application also includes a series of resistive loads in order to be able to carry out different energy consumption and study the behaviour of the different devices. For example, the regulator manages the energy from the wind turbine while the battery is being charged and provides energy to the load. The equipment also has an AC/DC rectifier to rectify the output current of the wind turbine and take it to the charge regulator, which allows the batteries to be charged and provides DC energy to the LED lamp module included in the application.
On the other hand, it is recommended to acquire a series of modules such as the single-phase inverter, the electric grid analyzer or a real wind turbine to study AC circuits, the connection of loads and consumptions in depth. The recommended wind turbine can be located outside to observe its response to the presence of wind.
