The Wiring Installation Training for AC and DC Industrial Electrical Motors, "WIT-IEM", has been designed by EDIBON for the formation at professional-practical level in the field of the installation, wiring and commissioning of industrial electrical motors.

This unit provides the future professionals with knowledge and essential skills on the assembly, installation, wiring, commissioning and operation of the most representative industrial electrical motors such us DC motor with wound rotor, AC synchronous three-phase motor alternator, asynchronous three-phase motor of squirrel cage, Dahlander three-phase motor, asynchronous single-phase motor with starting capacitor. The unit includes a specific manual in which is explained, at theoretical-practical level, the aspects concerning to the installation procedures, wiring and operation of these machines.

With this unit, the student will be able to understand different types of AC motor starting such as direct starting, star-delta starting, starting using a variable frequency drive and a soft starter. On the other hand, the student will be able to perform other maneuvers such as reversing and starting with timer.

GUIDED PRACTICAL EXERCISES INCLUDED IN THE MANUAL

  1. Wiring of AC motor protections.
  2. Wiring of AC motor direct manual starter.
  3. Wiring of AC motor direct manual starter with inversion.
  4. Wiring of AC motor star-delta manual start.
  5. Wiring and commissioning of an AC frequency controller connected to a three-phase squirrel cage AC motor.
  6. Wiring of an electronic soft starter for AC motors.
  7. Wiring of a motor with delay timer.

Some possible practices with the recommended additional elements:

  1. Installation and wiring of DC Motor with Wound Rotor, its protection system and its power and control circuitry.
  2. Installation and wiring of manual commutators for reversing operations of the DC Motor with Wound Rotor.
  3. Installation and wiring of Dahlander Three-Phase Motor, its protection system and its power and control circuitry.
  4. Manual reversing operations of the Dahlander Three-Phase Motor.
  5. Manual speed variation of the Dahlander Three-Phase Motor.
