Instalasi listrik mencakup grup sirkuit listrik yang dimaksudkan untuk memasok daya listrik ke gedung, fasilitas, infrastruktur, dan tempat umum mana pun.

Bidang instalasi listrik sangat luas. Ini mencakup sistem listrik tegangan tinggi dan sistem listrik tegangan rendah. Dalam yang terakhir, kita dapat membedakan antara instalasi listrik industri dan instalasi listrik rumah tangga.

Bidang instalasi listrik rumah tangga meliputi AC, kontrol pencahayaan, manajemen energi, sistem alarm anti-pencurian, sistem alarm kebakaran, sistem kontrol akses, dll.

Di sisi lain, sistem otomasi industri menjadi semakin umum di instalasi listrik industri. Sistem ini terdiri dari pengontrol, sensor, aktuator, dan sakelar yang memenuhi tujuan berbeda. Misalnya, PLC, variabel drive frekuensi, dan starter elektronik sering kali digunakan untuk mengontrol mesin listrik. Perangkat ini memungkinkan tingkat otomatisasi dan kontrol yang lebih tinggi terhadap mesin listrik. Untuk alasan ini, mereka secara bertahap mengganti pemula delta bintang.
