7.2.- TEKNIK MEKANIK OTOMOTIF

Industri otomotif adalah salah satu aplikasi utama teknik mesin saat ini. Kendaraan dengan mesin pembakaran dalam bensin dianggap yang terbesar Penemuan dari abad ke-20, meskipun prototipe pertama sudah dibuat pada akhir abad ke-18. Prototipe pertama berasal dari tahun 1769. Itu adalah kereta uap. Itu tidak berhasil tetapi menjadi preseden untuk pengembangan mesin bensin pada tahun 1860. Dari penemuan ini, perkembangan yang tak terhentikan dimulai dan industri otomotif seperti Benz, Peugeot, Fiat atau Ford berkembang biak. Dengan pergantian milenium, penggunaan bahan bakar fosil lainnya, seperti diesel, mulai diselidiki.
