14.- TEKNIK BIOMEDIS

Teknik Biomedis mempelajari penerapan ilmu teknik dalam bidang biologi dan kedokteran. Kombinasi dari kontrol elektronik dan sistem instrumentasi serta penerapan algoritma matematika dan prinsip fisika dan kimia memungkinkan Teknik Biomedis untuk menyelidiki dan mengembangkan teknik dan perangkat baru untuk memecahkan masalah klinis. Disiplin ini berkisar dari desain elemen diagnostik dan alat perangkat lunak medis hingga analisis fisiologis untuk mempelajari jantung atau sistem saraf.

Teknik Biomedis telah berkembang selama bertahun-tahun seiring dengan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Saat ini, perangkat seperti sistem pemantauan tanda vital atau perangkat diagnostik memfasilitasi tugas perawatan kesehatan. Perkembangan metode analisis citra seperti sinar-X, ultrasound dan magnetic resonance imaging memungkinkan tubuh dipelajari dengan jelas dan cepat. Selain itu, perangkat lunak telemedicine dan manajemen rumah sakit digunakan.

Masa depan Teknik Biomedis memiliki jalur perkembangan yang panjang, karena masyarakat saat ini membutuhkan solusi medis yang cepat dan efisien. Perangkat elektronik yang digunakan setiap hari akan memungkinkan pemantauan pasien jarak jauh, mengikuti nilai tanda vital untuk dapat menganalisis gejala sebelum masalah kesehatan dan bahkan mencegah kemungkinan masalah. Tren lain dalam Teknik Biomedis adalah penyederhanaan alat laboratorium. Sistem seperti Lab On a Chip (LOC) akan mengintegrasikan fungsi laboratorium pada satu chip. Teknik bedah robotik baru, bahan organik baru untuk pembuatan jaringan buatan dan jaringan regeneratif, atau pencetakan 3D organ buatan akan memungkinkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan medis di masa depan.
