11.1.- OPERASI UNIT

Operasi unit adalah masing-masing dari perubahan fisik yang terjadi dalam proses industri kimia. Mereka muncul dari studi tentang proses kimia yang berbeda di mana operasi yang berbeda tampaknya dilakukan tetapi mereka memiliki dasar yang sama.

Operasi ini dapat dibagi menjadi tiga jenis:

  • Transfer massal. Perubahan massa atau komposisi materi, yang mungkin termasuk perubahan kimia. Operasi tersebut adalah distilasi, penyerapan, adsorpsi, ekstraksi dan pertukaran ion, di yang sebagian besar perubahannya bersifat fisik.
  • Transfer energi. Perubahan energi yang, misalnya, dapat diartikan sebagai perubahan keadaan karena perubahan tekanan dan/atau suhu. Klasifikasi ini mencakup penguapan, meskipun operasi lain yang menggabungkan transfer energi dengan transfer massa (pengeringan, liofilisasi, sublimasi, kristalisasi dan pelembab) juga disertakan.
  • Transfer momentum. Perubahan kondisi kinetik materi. Operasi yang melibatkan perubahan kinetik adalah filtrasi, sedimentasi, flotasi, dan sentrifugasi .

Semuanya secara eksperimental berdasarkan pada hukum konservasi yang sesuai.

Jenis operasi ini digunakan di banyak industri. Ini adalah dasar dari berbagai proses dari berbagai bidang aplikasi, seperti misalnya industri makanan, industri energi, dll.
