9.1.- FUNDAMENTAL DAN KONSEP DASAR TERMODINAMIKA

Termodinamika adalah cabang fisika yang termasuk dalam ilmu fenomenologi yang mempelajari sistem nyata, tidak dimodelkan, dan mengikuti metode eksperimental. Akibatnya, sistem tersebut secara eksperimental ditentukan oleh perkiraan dan pengukuran variabel.

Secara makro, sistem termodinamika ditentukan oleh variabel. Sejumlah besar variabel termodinamika dapat diukur, tetapi hanya satu angka yang diperlukan untuk menentukan sistem secara tegas, yaitu fungsi keadaan. Tekanan, volume, suhu, entropi dan entalpi adalah beberapa yang paling penting variabel status.

Perubahan dalam keadaan materi terjadi dengan modifikasi variabel termodinamika. Keadaan materi fundamental adalah padat , cair dan gas . Ada kondisi tekanan dan suhu tertentu untuk setiap elemen atau senyawa tempat terjadinya perubahan kondisi.

Konsep gas ideal telah diperkenalkan untuk menyederhanakan sistem termodinamika nyata dan perubahan keadaan yang dihasilkan. Mereka ditentukan oleh persamaan gas ideal PV = nRT. Cairan mampat yang ideal diperkirakan dengan cara yang sama.

Dalam sistem tertutup dengan zat cair, terdapat kesetimbangan termodinamika antara zat cair dan fase uapnya. Evolusi tekanan dan suhu sistem dalam kesetimbangan menentukan kurva tekanan uap dan keadaan yang ada disebut keadaan saturasi. Dari evolusi itu, diagram suhu-tekanan diwakili.

Mempelajari konsep-konsep ini sangat penting dalam praktiknya, yang pada dasarnya diterapkan pada air. Misalnya, spesifikasi tingkat kelembaban, kontraksi dan pemuaian materi ideal kemudian diterapkan pada mesin termal aktual, seperti turbin, nosel, mesin uap untuk evaluasi skema operasi.
