概要

The Computer Controlled Solar/Heat Source Vapour Turbine, "HTVC", has been designed to provide an easily understood vapour power plant and to demonstrate, on a lab scale, the ability to produce shaft power from Solar Radiation.

It is a bench-top unit, using refrigerant and operating on the Rankine Cycle from a hot water heat source within the unit. Mechanical output is from a single stage impulse turbine and heat is rejected to a water cooled condenser.

This unit includes all the necessary instrumentation and sensors for controlling and measuring the most representative parameters.

Optional Solar Pannels and Installation Kit, "HTVC/KIT", to enable the unit to operate from solar energy.

This Computer Controlled Unit is supplied with the EDIBON Computer Control System (SCADA), and includes: The unit itself + a Control Interface Box + a Data Acquisition Board + Computer Control, Data Acquisition and Data Management Software Packages, for controlling the process and all parameters involved in the process.

  1. Identification and familiarization with all components of the unit.
  2. Study and familiarization with turbines.
  3. Study of the Rankine Cycle.
  4. Production of torque/speed and power/speed curves for the turbine.
  5. Determination of thermal efficiency at a range of turbine inlet and exhaust pressures.
  6. Use of property charts or tables and the application of the First Law of Thermodynamics to produce energy balances.
  7. Estimation of frictional losses in turbines.
  8. Comparison of performance with the Rankine Cycle, (including the external isentropic efficiency of turbines).
  9. Sensors calibration.

Practical possibilities with the Optional Models and Accessories: (Not included)

  1. Measurement of the solar energy collection at a range of mean water temperatures.
  2. Demonstration of the production of shaft work from solar radiation.

Other possibilities to be done with this Unit:

  1. Many students view results simultaneously. To view all results in real time in the classroom by means of a projector or an electronic whiteboard.
  2. Open Control, Multicontrol and Real Time Control. This unit allows intrinsically and/or extrinsically to change the span, gains, proportional, integral, derivative parameters, etc, in real time.
  3. The Computer Control System with SCADA and PID Control allow a real industrial simulation.
  4. This unit is totally safe as uses mechanical, electrical and electronic, and software safety devices.
  5. This unit can be used for doing applied research.
  6. This unit can be used for giving training courses to Industries even to other Technical Education Institutions.
  7. Control of the HTVC unit process through the control interface box without the computer.
  8. Visualization of all the sensors values used in the HTVC unit process.
  9. By using PLC-PI additional 19 more exercises can be done.
  10. Several other exercises can be done and designed by the user.
