ECOCAT is an ambitious project that seeks to replace fossil fuel-derived chemicals with compounds obtained from CO₂, thereby reducing emissions and promoting a more sustainable industry. Funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MCIN) / State Research Agency (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this initiative has received highly positive evaluations, highlighting its feasibility, methodology, and multidisciplinary team.
.
The ECOCAT project is based on two fundamental objectives:
Achieving these objectives requires an interdisciplinary approach that combines chemistry, engineering, and nanotechnology to develop catalytic materials with optimized properties for efficient CO₂ conversion.
At EDIBON, our mission is to foster innovation and sustainability through the development of cutting-edge technical equipment. Our participation in the ECOCAT project strengthens this commitment, allowing us to contribute our expertise in designing and manufacturing advanced solutions for research in CO₂ valorization.
Within ECOCAT, we provide technology and equipment that enable researchers and institutions to analyze and optimize catalytic processes.
ECOCAT has received outstanding evaluations in criteria such as scientific quality, feasibility, and impact relevance. Some of the key highlights include:
In the coming months, semi-annual meetings will be held to evaluate progress and adjust the strategy based on obtained results. Additionally, a dissemination and knowledge transfer plan has been established to ensure the practical application of the project’s scientific developments.
A key element in validating and optimizing the processes developed in ECOCAT is experimentation in controlled environments, where technologies can be evaluated under real conditions before industrial implementation. In this regard, EDIBON’s pilot plants play a fundamental role, allowing for the simulation of CO₂ conversion processes and the experimental validation of new technologies.
Our solutions enable research centers and industries to explore, test, and refine innovative methodologies for CO₂ capture and transformation, ensuring that scientific advancements can be translated into scalable practical applications.
CO₂ valorization represents a unique opportunity to turn an environmental challenge into an innovative and profitable solution. Projects like ECOCAT demonstrate that through applied research and the development of specialized pilot plants, it is possible to move towards a more sustainable production model.
At EDIBON, we remain committed to technological advancement in this field, providing research tools that facilitate the implementation of real-world solutions. If you would like to learn more about our contribution to the ECOCAT project and our pilot plants for CO₂ capture and valorization research, feel free to contact us.
Together, we can build a future where science and technology are the key to a healthier planet.
