The Computer Controlled Biomedical Ultrasound Thermal Effects Teaching Unit, "BIUTEC", has been designed by EDIBON to study, in an experimental way, the ultrasound effects in biological tissues and acquire the necessary knowledge to design and validate therapeutic ultrasound units.
The unit is supplied with a set of practical exercises that will help the student to understand how to configure a therapeutic ultrasound device.
The Computer Controlled Biomedical Ultrasound Thermal Effects Teaching Unit,"BIUTEC", consists of a professional therapeutic ultrasound machine and a biologicaltissue simulator, composed of three different material layers with a thermocouple ineach one.
The simulator’s materials have similar acoustic properties to the human skin, soft tissue and bone with the aim of study the thermal effect produced by ultrasoundtherapy.
Besides, the unit is supplied with different applicators to study the effect of theemitting area.
This Computer Controlled Unit is supplied with the EDIBON Computer Control System (SCADA), and includes: The unit itself + a ControlInterface Box + a Data Acquisition Board + Data Acquisition and Data Management Software Packages, for controlling the process andall parameters involved in the process.
