The Computer Controlled Basic Air Conditioning Unit with Climatic Chamber, "TSAC/S", designed by EDIBON, is clearly arranged and represents a complete air conditioning installation, with an air duct and a climatic chamber.

The main components of the air conditioning system are the air-cooled condensing unit, the fan, the steam humidifier and the air heater. The air conditioning unit is coupled to the refrigeration and air conditioning base, thus forming a complete and functional air conditioning system model.

Thanks to the fan present in the circuit, it is possible to recirculate the air within the circuit, located between the ducts.

The air-cooled condensing unit includes the accumulator, compressor, condenser and receiver, together with all the necessary connections for its electrical and electronic control.

Air distribution in the air conditioning system is controlled by three motor-driven ventilation fins.

The climate chamber is equipped with two different heat sources (wet and dry).

The lower air duct contains the air cooler, two electric air heaters and a steam humidifier. The upper duct is equipped with up to three valves that regulate the air flow, allowing it to operate in recirculation mode, with outside air intake or a combination of both modes.

Three pressure gauges with temperature scale included and a flow meter provide all relevant measurements for the refrigeration circuit.

The system, thanks to the different elements described in the diagram, allows various operating conditions, such as heating through resistances, cooling through heat exchange, humidification through humidifiers and dehumidification through controlled condensation systems.

The air conditioning unit is interconnected hydraulically via refrigerant hoses and electrically via cables.

The complete system therefore allows for different conditions: heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification.

The SCADA software developed by EDIBON has a data acquisition system and a climate controller that allows the automation of the air conditioning installation, offering great educational advantages. The software regulates the components so that, inside the climatic chamber, the temperature and humidity preset by the user are reached, thus allowing conditions to be established based on the air temperature, the heating or cooling temperature and the air humidity.

In addition, the equipment software "TSAC/S" allows:

  • The recording, evaluation and representation of all measurement values as a function of time.
  • The representation on the psychrometric diagram of the humidity values obtained.
  • Selection of the periods of use of the air conditioning system for each day through a time program.

This Computer Controlled Unit is supplied with the EDIBON Computer Control System (SCADA), and includes: The unit itself + Computer Control, Data Acquisition and Data Management Software Packages, for controlling the process and all parameters involved in the process.
